Nicolas Colsaerts announced this morning on his Facebook wall that he had suffered from a rare kidney disease for several weeks. In a one-minute video, the bedridden resident of Brussels presents the various information he currently has on his illness. Worried about seeing his ankles swell, the 39-year-old Belgian golfer went to his doctor a few weeks ago. With water in his lungs and blood clots, he was transferred to hospital the same day.
If the doctors took a long time to make a diagnosis on this rare disease, the golfer is now under treatment. Pending a development that he hopes will be positive in the coming weeks, Nicolas Colsaerts wanted to thank his wife and the nursing staff.
For his part, Vincent Borremans, manager of the Belgian golfer is optimistic. His protege should be able to return to the greens quickly. “His immunity is weaker. He must avoid traveling but as he is already in Dubai, he will be able to participate in the next three tournaments there.“Nicolas Colsaerts will then be able to take advantage of a break in February before planning for the rest of his season.
