Bad news for Atlético. Jan Oblak has tested positive for covid-19, so the goalkeeper remains isolated in compliance with health protocols, as reported by the rojiblanco club.
The goalkeeper is doubtful, therefore, for the match between Atlético and Barcelona on February 6, although the absence of clashes in the coming days due to international commitments gives the Slovenian room to recover and reach a a decisive duel for the team trained by Diego Pablo Simeone in their eagerness to continue climbing in the First Division classification.
Although Atlético has not informed if Oblak suffers symptoms, the Balkan goalkeeper has eleven days to be able to rejoin the ranks of Atlético, which leads Barça by one point and also has the doubts of Kondogbia, Griezmann and Marcos Llorente, all of them recovering of their respective muscular mishaps, facing that confrontation with the azulgrana team.
Untouchable under the sticks since he arrived at Atlético in 2014, Oblak has played all the games for Simeone’s team so far this season. The Argentine coach did not even give way to Frenchman Benjamin Lecomte in the Copa del Rey, who arrived on loan last summer to cover the loss of Ivo Grbic, who asked to leave on loan to Lille due to the lack of opportunities derived from the long shadow of the goalkeeper Slovenian, winner of five Zamora Trophies but less reliable this year.
