Rapids Marco Grüll is on course for the title in the big oe24 footballer election.
Last year, Yusuf Demir secured the title in the oe24 election for Austria’s footballer of the year. His successor also seems to be a Rapidler. At least Marco Grüll leads the voting with a respectful distance. The 23-year-old only moved from Ried to Hütteldorf in the summer and has eleven goals and six assists after 33 competitive appearances. In the internal list of scorers, Salzburg is only behind striker Ercan Kara – in the oe24 election he laughs from the top.
Altach defender is a surprise man
Behind him follows a surprise man with Altach defender Lukas Prokop. In third place is Real Madrid superstar David Alaba, just ahead of Salzburg jewel Karim Adeyemi. Apart from the women’s voting, Rapid currently leads all categories.
Rapid almost uncatchable in the lead when the team is chosen
Ferdinand Feldhofer sits on the throne for the coaches – even though he has only been in office at Rapid since the end of November. The Styrian’s record is impressive: three games, two wins, one draw. Behind him are ex-Altach coach Damir Canadi and Austria coach Manfred Schmid. In the vote for the team of the year, the record champions are almost unassailable. There Rapid leaves the second Altach and the third Austria far behind. The competition needs a big catch-up race in the election finish – and that’s where you come in!
