The Oldenburgers, who started as playoff candidates before the season, lost 57:79 (39:43) to the MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg on Saturday and, after the fourth loss in a row, are still in the basketball Bundesliga with a record of 2:10 wins bottom of table. Ludwigsburg (11:6), on the other hand, initially climbed to fourth place.
As is so often the case this season, the hosts were better in the first quarter (17:12), but then collapsed. Ludwigsburg made a four-point lead from a deficit by the break. After the change of sides, the north Germans had nothing left to oppose the physically superior guests due to the long break in training due to the corona and suffered a clear home bankruptcy. Jonah Radebaugh and 18-year-old Jacob Patrick were top guest shooters with 14 points each.
Promoted MLP Academics Heidelberg won after extra time at the Löwen Braunschweig with 92:83 (75:75, 43:40) and is in 13th place with 6:10 successes, directly behind the Lower Saxony (6:9). Brekkott Chapman with 23 points and twelve rebounds and Kelvin Martin with 20 points and eight ball wins were decisive for the guests. Martin scored the final siren in regulation time to equalize 75:75.
