Omar Albornoz will not be in Junior’s debut in the League

The debut of Omar Albornoz from Cartagena in the Colombian Soccer League with Junior will have to wait.

The player, who arrived for this semester from Deportes Tolima, was sanctioned by the Disciplinary Committee of the Professional Soccer Championship with two dates, for which he will not be able to play against Patriotas, next Saturday at the Roberto Meléndez Metropolitan Stadium, from 8:15 pm, for the first date of the domestic tournament.

“Omar Albornoz, player of the Club Deportivo Popular Junior FC SA sanctioned with two (2) dates of suspension and a fine of one million eight hundred seventeen thousand fifty-two pesos ($1,817,052) for incurring in the disciplinary conduct described in numeral 1 of article 65 of the FCF CDU, during the match for the 5th date of the Liga II 2021 home runs against the América de Cali club, ”says the statement from the entity that governs local football.

Although it is a fact that the Bolivarian soccer player will not be able to be in the match against those from Tunja, there is the possibility that for the games against Nacional (second date) and La Equidad (third day) he can act.

This is because it is very likely that striker Miguel Ángel Borja will be called up for the Colombian national team, so this would allow Albornoz to be able to fill in for the absence of the Cordovan attacker.

Another one who, due to his call-up, would make the Cartagena-born available for the clashes against the Antioquians and the Bogotans is Luis González, who could be summoned by the Argentine coach José Pékerman for the Venezuelan team.
