It was revealed on the 27th that CA Sega Joypolis (Tokyo), which develops indoor amusement parks in Japan and overseas, will open a sports entertainment facility “Joypolis Sports” in a commercial facility in Izumi-ku, Sendai City. You can easily experience various sports such as badminton, table tennis, and the new sport “Mölkky” that originated in Northern Europe Finland.
Aeon Sendai Nakayama store annex
The space of the former sporting goods store on the 1st floor of the Aeon Sendai Nakayama store annex has been renovated to approximately 3170 square meters. About 30 kinds of sports, games and activities are prepared in the area of 12 tennis courts.
We have set up a court where you can play futsal and basketball, and facilities for bouldering and trampoline, which became a hot topic at the Tokyo Olympics last year. You can also enjoy new sports such as billiards that use your head and feet, “foot darts” that kick the ball and aim at the target, and “e-sports” that you play in computer games.
The company operates “Joypolis” in Tokyo and China, and this sports facility is a new format. In addition to being based in baseball, soccer, and basketball professional teams, the advancement to Sendai is said to have been determined by the regional characteristics of many strong student sports schools and active sports watching.
The person in charge said, “While the opportunities to interact with people are decreasing due to the new coronavirus disease, we would like to make use of the customer service know-how and management capabilities that we have cultivated so far to make it a facility where everyone can enjoy sports.”
Scheduled to open on March 18th. The admission fee is under consideration up to around 2000 yen, and annual sales of 80,000 users and about 150 million yen are expected.
