Peru confirms a new casualty for the match against Colombia

The Peruvian team, which is preparing to face Colombia on Friday at the Metropolitan Stadium in Barranquilla, confirmed that the midfielder Pedro Aquino will not participate in the double elimination date for medical reasons.

The team, led by Ricardo Gareca, said in a statement: “Pedro Aquino has been withdrawn from the call for the double date of the South American Qualifiers for medical reasons, for which he is being made available to his club.”

For its part, Peruvian media reported that Tuesday was the first training session that Gareca could have with all the players called up.

In addition, they added that the last starting team that trained thinking about the match against Colombia was with: Gallese; Corzo, Zambrano, Callens, Loyola; Tapia, Peña, Yotún, Cueva, Carrillo; and Lapadula.

Peru will travel to Barranquilla in the afternoon hours of this Wednesday and tomorrow will carry out the reconnaissance of the Metropolitan Stadium field.

After the match against the Tricolor team, the Peruvian cast will face Ecuador on Tuesday, February 1, in a match valid for date 16 of the Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifying round.
