As the deadline approaches, pessimism increases in ‘Can Barça‘ about the chances that Ousmane Dembélé will leave in the winter market. If a few weeks ago the possibility of a downward renewal and even an agreed exit before January 31 was still contemplated, right now the reality is that a solution is still not materialized, with just over 48 hours to go before the market.
The club is working against the clock in search of a way out, aware that the worst of the possible scenarios would be that Dembélé would continue in Barcelona from February 1, and even more so if the club’s intention is for the player to stay in the stands until June 30.
Hence whate the director of football, Mateu Alemany, is intensifying contacts and opening new avenues to find a way out for the French striker. But so far there hasn’t been a step forward yet at any of the doors that have been knocked on, so the moderate optimism of a few days ago has turned into an alarming pessimism.
It is true that the player has agreed to look for a way out, but the offers are not forthcoming and time is running out. Neither Chelsea, nor PSG, nor Manchester United have yet made any formal offer for the player.
And it is that if Ousmane does not leave, it will be impossible to undertake new operations, thus ruling out the arrival of a 9 or a left backor. Both Aubameyang and Tagliafico are in the chapel, waiting for a call from the club, to travel to Barcelona.
The other option, a downward renewal seems even more unlikely, because the terms have changed and are even worse than the last offer, which was already rejected by the player’s agent, Moussa Sissoko.
Thus, as of today, Barcelona’s reinforcements for this winter market will have materialized in three players: Alves, Ferran and Adama.
