Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger ends his career

As expected for a few weeks, quarterback NFL wild card round”>Ben Roethlisberger announced the end of his career on Thursday at the age of 39. He will have spent 18 seasons in the NFL, all with the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he arrived in 2004.

Roethlisberger was crowned the Super Bowl twice, in February 2006 against the Seattle Seahawks (21-10) then in 2009 against the Arizona Cardinals (27-23). On the other hand, he lost the grand final in 2011 against the Green Bay Packers (31-25).

During his career, Ben Roethlisberger was also selected six times for the Pro Bowl, the All Star Game of professional American football. He left the NFL, being the fifth best passer in league history (behind Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Peyton Manning and Brett Favre).
