Baby corpse: Police are investigating new clues
In the case of killed babies, that found in Potsdam more than ten years ago was, the police are now following new clues. After the police launched another call for witnesses on December 22, received several tips from the population, said prosecutor Sebastian Thiele on Tuesday of the dpa. “All clues are being followed up.” The authority did not want to announce how many clues there are and whether there is a hot lead among them for reasons of investigative tactics.
The dead girl was found on December 23, 2011, one day before Christmas Eve, around 9:35 a.m. in the Potsdam-West district. The body lay wrapped in a towel between a garage complex on Kantstrasse and an adjacent railway embankment. Research found that the baby died violently.
With the help of further developed forensic investigation methods, new legal powers and a renewed call for witnesses, the investigators hope to solve the crime after all. Information that leads to the investigation of the crime is offered with 10,000 euros. (dpa)
