Havana, January 20 (RHC) The president of the French Judo Federation, Stéphane Nomis, and the Cuban ambassador to Paris, Otto Vaillant laid the foundations for the signing of a bilateral sports cooperation agreement on Thursday. high level. .

Organized by the association Cuba Coopération France (CubaCoop), the meeting held at the headquarters of the Federation in Paris addressed areas of work such as the preparation of athletes for important competitions, the exchange of knowledge of coaches and the development of a discipline with many traditions and results. in both countries.

Nomis expressed their desire to support the island’s judoka with training bases in French cities, on a cycle of up to a month, which would include covering the costs of accommodation, food and transportation within the country.

He advanced the possibility of sending to the largest island of the Antilles a donation of basic resources for martial arts training carried out by Jigoro Kano, on the basis of coordination with Cuban partners on essential needs.

“I am very happy to help, I have very good memories of Cuba and I think we will have an excellent collaboration”, he stressed during the meeting, which was also attended by the president of CubaCoop Victor Fernández and his vice-president Manuel Pascual.
