Regatas recovered and the “Santo” fell again

In another double-header for the teams from the capital, there was mixed luck for both representatives from Corrientes in the National League, as Regatas won an important victory against Instituto at the Ángel Sandrín stadium by 103-90, after withstanding a final onslaught from the “Gloria”, while San Martín suffered a defeat.

Regatas was able to recover after falling categorically against Atenas and controlling Instituto, it went from low to high and a pure triple (17/31) was able to keep the Cordovan team at bay. The standouts in the “rower” team were Juan Pablo Arengo (photo) who led the scoring table with 28 points, followed by another great performance by “Penka” Aguirre with 26 points.

On the other hand, San Martín fell narrowly in Boedo against San Lorenzo by 81-79 and missed an opportunity to close the victory in the last ball, since Machuca, with 1 second to go, could not convert from zone three, which would have given the victory to the “Holy” from Corrientes.

In the “rojinegro” group, Fabián Ramírez Barrios’ 19 points coming off the bench, seconded by Matías Solanas with 15, were not enough for the second consecutive defeat in two presentations in the South.

San Martín will close its tour, which has been negative so far, tomorrow, Sunday, when it visits Boca at the Luis Conde stadium, starting at 8 p.m. While Regatas will face “Gloria” again, on Wednesday, January 19, starting at 9 p.m. :30, this time at the José Jorge Contte stadium.
