Return of the public to the stadiums: amateur football still awaiting a recovery, response perhaps this Saturday

This Friday’s Codeco was eagerly awaited by amateur sport and amateur football in particular, which had been stopped for several weeks because of health measures which prohibited the public in football stadiums.

This Friday, the government therefore took the decision to authorize the return of the public up to 70% of the capacity of the enclosure for places which can accommodate a minimum of 200 people.

A decision which could allow the football authorities to review their copy and authorize the resumption of competitions from N1 to P4, put on break.

“No decision and announcement can be made this Friday evening”, says David Delférière, the boss of the ACFF. “We must also wait for the official texts.”

However, amateur football does not intend to wait too long before taking the lead. Indeed, this Saturday at 10 a.m., a crisis committee (with the N1 and the two linguistic wings ACFF and VV) will take place and an ACFF board will follow at 12 p.m. “Depending on what was said on Friday evening, we will make decisions.” Especially with regard to the issues related to the number of Covid cases in a team.

Amateur football is therefore still a little waiting. The only certainty is that no round ball competition in the amateur world will resume this weekend as had already been planned. To see if the recovery will take place next weekend or the first weekend of February.

Answer maybe this Saturday.
