San Pedro del Pinatar bets on grassroots sports with subsidies to clubs and individual athletes

The Department of Sports has awarded subsidies to 11 clubs and associations that promote grassroots sports in different modalities and has rewarded the efforts of 10 individual athletes for their achievements in the last year.

The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitación Martínez, and the Councilor for Sports, Pedro Antonio Vivancos, today delivered these grants and aid amounting to 117,500 euros and which have been awarded on a competitive basis.

The City Council subsidizes the work of sports clubs and associations that carry out federative activity in different disciplines and that also collaborate with the City Council in the development of municipal sports schools, volunteer actions, promotional campaigns, and in the organization of sporting events and appointments. .

In this area, grants have been awarded for a total amount of 112,500 euros. So the Pinatarense Sports Association, which promotes the practice of canoeing and Kayak Polo, has received 15,013 euros; the Pinatar Rhythmic and Aesthetic Club, 2,226 euros; the Belich San Pedro Beach Volleyball club, 2,676 euros; the San Pedro Sports Center (squash) has obtained 2,019 euros and the Taekwondo Pinatar club, 4,733 euros.

For its part, the Yamato Judo Club has received 4,710 euros; Futsal Pinatar, 18,216; the 30 7 40 Sports Club (athletics, triathlon, cycling, mountain and badminton) has obtained 11,140 euros; the Pinatar Base Football School, 45,117 euros, the Pinatar Féminas Football Club, 3,250 euros, and the AIDEMAR Sports Club, 2,500 euros.

Through these grants, clubs can finance their technical staff, travel, federative expenses, changing rooms and kits, medals and trophies, etc.

INDIVIDUAL ATHLETES

In addition, they have delivered ten individual grants, for a total value of 5,000 euros, to young athletes from Pinata who have stood out in different disciplines in recent years both nationally and internationally.

The results of the fighter stand out Ruben Lopez, who has obtained 777 euros and who, among other achievements, obtained third place in the Spanish junior Olympic wrestling championship in 2020 and 2021. As well as the canoeist Lararo Lopez, who obtained a second place in the Spanish championship K1 200 meters under 23, a third place in the European Championship K4 500 meters, among other achievements, for which he was given a grant of 617 euros.

the fighter Christina Lopez, regional wrestling champion and fifth in the Spanish championship receives 525 euros, while Christina Gomez, second in the absolute Spanish squash championship, gets 515 euros and the chess player Rebecca Jimenez, 511 euros, for his results at the regional and national level, among which a fourth place in the 2021 Individual Autonomous Region and a seventh place in the Under 18 Spanish Individual Championship stand out.

In addition, 457 euros have been delivered to the athlete Dario Romero, seventh in 400 meters in the 2020 and 2021 Spanish sub23 championship. The fighter has also been recognized Fernando Nicholas Paton (437 euros), who won second place in the regional wrestling championship in June and fourth place in the Spanish wrestling championship, and the paddle tennis player Manuel Valcarcel (423 euros) who won first place in the regional championship.

The achievements of the canoeist have also been valued John Lopez de Haro (369 euros) with an eighth place in the Spanish Championship in C1 200 Junior and the ultra-distance athlete Francisco Mariano Martinez (369 euros), who obtained second place in the 100-kilometer Spanish Championship and tenth place in the 2021 Trail Running regional championship.
