Former world champion Sindhu maintained her seventh position with 90,994 in the women’s rankings while Srikanth remained in 10th place with 69,158 points in the men’s rankings.
Chinese Taipei’s Tai Tzu leads the women’s standings with 108,800 points while defending Olympic champion Victor Axelsen leads the men’s standings with 116,779 points.
From an Indian perspective, the biggest winner was Indian men’s doubles pair Satwiksairaj and Chirag, who rose from tenth to eighth place with 76,708 points in the latest ranking published by the Badminton World Federation (BWF).
They beat top-seeded Indonesian duo Mohammad Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan 21-16, 26-24 to claim the men’s doubles crown at the Yonex-Sunrise India Open on Sunday.
Going into the match with a 1-3 head-to-head record, Satwik and Chirag put up a brave effort against the Indonesian pair and avoided a fightback to reign supreme in the final.
Satwik and Chirag had won the Thai Open Super 500 title in 2019, in addition to reaching the French Open Super 750 final the same year.
No Indians have featured in the women’s doubles and mixed doubles rankings.
