Schalke 04: mortal remains of legend Reinhard Libuda are reburied – Bundesliga

Dribbling king Reinhard “Stan” Libuda (“Nobody can get past God – only Libuda”) finally finds his last rest!

In 1996 the Schalke icon died at the age of 52 after an eventful life. Because of his involvement in the bribery scandal of 1971, he was denied a city grave of honor and Libuda’s resting place was to be leveled.

The “Schalke Markt Foundation” founded by Ex-Schalke boss Clemens Tönnies (65), which takes care of the district in need of renovation, is now relocating Libuda’s remains – in the Schalke Fan Field, a kind of honorary cemetery in which Near the arena. And fulfills a heartfelt wish of all fans.

The reburial takes place on the weekend with an internal memorial ceremony. Klaus Fischer (72), Klaus Fichtel (77) and the Kremers twins (72), who won the cup in 1972 with “Stan” as captain, have announced themselves.

BVB President Rauball (75) comes with the Dortmund club legends “Stopper” Paul (81) and Siggi Held (79). In 1966, Libuda shot BVB to win the European Cup against Liverpool (2-1).

He finds peace next to the legendary left winger Adolf “Ala” Urban, who has been German champion five times with Schalke. The national player fell in Russia in 1943 and was brought home to Schalke from the war cemetery in 2013 on the initiative of Tönnies.
