Six black belts in krav defense fighting

Sports and mental coach Nicolas Godin can be proud of his students. Six of them – Maeva Avella, Kelia Godin, Titouan Valla, Thibault Subra, Jean-Luc Bourdon and Antoine Knoché – have just obtained the black belt in krav defense fighting (KDF). A symbol of prestige in the martial art, this final stage to be reached is the guarantee of a level of mastery.

These have met the requirements of the rank by successfully passing tests focused on knowledge of the laws and psychological tools used to verbally defuse a conflict. Faced with simulations of unexpected aggression close to reality, they also demonstrated their sporting and technical skills.

Opening of a new section for adults

Founded by Nicolas Godin, krav defense fighting is a method of self-defense using simple, effective techniques that are accessible to all people, regardless of their age, size, gender or athletic level. It admits the same principle of grades (yellow, orange, green, blue, brown, black), as in judo, karate and other martial arts.

The teaching of the discipline makes it possible to face all types of attacks, with or without weapons. “The KDF pleases, comments Nicholas, because it is very comprehensive. It combines boxing, wrestling and ground combat techniques (grappling).

In short, it is very close to mixed martial arts (MMA), which has met with great success in France since its recent legalization. “It’s an improved variant of krav maga, says Nicholas. IIt includes mental preparation to deal with psychological aggression and further physical preparation.

The KDF comes from field experience. That of a quadruple world karate champion who worked for twelve years in close protection, but also of a physiognomist, ex-nightclub doorman, educated to react to attacks with appropriate language and behavior.

Nicolas Godin is delighted to have six black belts at his side as supervisory reinforcements. Especially since its association Krav Défense fighting is opening a new section to meet demand with additional (adult) slots, Tuesday and Thursday, from 6:45 p.m. to 8 p.m. The follow-up thus accentuated will allow members to progress more quickly, with more security.
