Promote the inclusion of children and adolescents through physical activity and recreational sports, encouraging participation in sports and artistic paths in which to experiment with disciplines such as judo and dance, look for different languages and build networks in a context of post-Coronavirus sociality. These are the objectives of the “In-Fenice – Art and sport as inclusive tools” project promoted in Modena by the amateur sports association Lust at the La Fenice center, in R-Nord, where courses and activities, with free participation, also with a dedicated summer center. The proposals will also take place outdoors, in the nearby park XXII Aprile, and will help encourage families and citizens to visit the area, also creating moments open to the neighborhood. The project was presented to journalists at a press conference, in the La Fenice gym, on the first floor of the South Canaletto road complex, in the presence of the councilor for Sport Grazia Baracchi, the project manager Serena Mignano and the contact person of the dance laboratory. Martina Cumbo.
In particular, the association won the “Inclusion” tender for Sport and Health, the Coni company that deals with the development of sporting activities in Italy, obtaining an economic contribution of 15 thousand euros invested for the project to which the Municipality of Modena granted the patronage. “Congratulations to the company for being able to obtain a loan through the Sport and Health tender – comments Councilor Baracchi -. For almost two years, from May 2020, the Municipal Department of Sport has started a training and support path for the sports clubs of the city with the aim of implementing the skills of managers in the construction of projects to be nominated for regional calls and national “. The result of Lust therefore certifies “that the first results of this activity are arriving and we can only be satisfied, also because the proposals of the La Fenice center focus on sport and recreational-motor activities as an educational and inclusion tool”.
The Lust operators have developed five different itineraries, linked to the world of dance, martial arts, sport and movement in the company of their dog: “With these proposals – explain the organizers – we intend to accompany children, teenagers and adults looking for to work on the principles of inclusion and community and on healthy lifestyles. We want to give everyone the opportunity to play a sport and live the experience of a group-team that can support, teach, entertain and accompany both in everyday life and in growth “. Each path has a defined age target, starting from 7-year-old children, while children with disabilities are, in a transversal manner, some of the main recipients of the actions. In the various planned “restitution” activities there is also the creation of a video-documentary on inclusiveness by the participants themselves in the initiatives; furthermore, among the workshops included in the summer center there is also the one dedicated to carpentry, with the small participants called to use the recycled materials.
