Suffering from liver cancer, Didier Jacob (57) will kick off Anderlecht – Genk on February 20. A dream made possible thanks to an incredible solidarity on social networks.
History goes far beyond the framework of sport and demonstrates, once again, that athletes can show solidarity. Two weeks ago, Didier Jacob, a resident of Neufchâteau, learned terrible news: he is suffering from liver cancer.
A crushing blow for the 57-year-old man. “Last week, we went back to the doctor. He explained to dad that he only had a few months left to live,” says Chloe, her throat tight.
If the announcement logically had the effect of a bomb, the Jacob family did not feel sorry for themselves. “At times like these, you want to make the most of it,” continues Chloé, who had a brilliant idea. His dad, a fervent supporter of Les Mauves for more than fifty years, has always wanted to follow an Anderlecht match as a VIP and kick off a match.
