Tennis / Interclub men (2nd day). Villers Nancy TC still hopes to bounce back

VNTCSARREGUEMINES,

Sunday, from 9 a.m.

The Villarois left a little KO of their short trip to Vandoeuvre. And for good reason !

Despite the advantage of the rankings in all the singles, the partners of Antoine Claudel fell heavily (4-1) mortgaging at the same time their chance to keep their place in the regional elite at the end of the exercise. “We experienced a collective bankruptcy,” confides Antoine Claudel. “We lacked training and matches. Certainly it is a fault but our professional obligations do not necessarily allow us to have the time to do it. Now, I am convinced that it will get better and better as the days go by”.

We hope so because the VNTC already has its back to the wall. “The only positive note of the first day is to note that the Moselle teams did not field their best team. There was only one negative in the field”. Inevitably, the Villarois hope that it will be the same for the rest of the exercise.

Starting with this Sunday when the VNTC will offer hospitality to the Sarreguemines team led by Hugo Schott (and beaten during the curtain raiser by Cattenom 3-2). Hugo Schott was surrounded for the occasion by two 3/6. “As far as I’m concerned, I’m looking more to have fun in these championships than to achieve a big performance”, continues Antoine Claudel. “At 24, I now prefer the role of coach more than trying to move up the rankings. Despite everything, I am 100% for the team”. For this part, the rotation is in order for the 2/6 Villarois. Thus, Antoine Rambour takes the place of Maxime Niziolek.

The teams: VNTC: A. Claudel (1/6), L. Vanhuyse (1/6), A. Rambour (2/6) For Sarreguemines (subject to change): H. Schott (-15), B. Kucera ( 3/6), J. Kaufmann (3/6)
