Another night stamped Early Evening, another night stamped Catherine Lara, and if you have these two references you are a boomer but a stylish boomer. For those who don’t have it? So it was a crazy night, so it was a magical night in the NBA, and we summarize it all in a few lines, a few stats and a few images.
# The results of the night
# What you must remember
- Nikola Jokic was phenomenal again, like every night for two years.
- Cade Cunningham also begins to be every night, despite the defeats that follow.
- The Raptors are very happy to have found a hot Gary Trent Jr..
- Joel Embiid keeps boning anything that moves, it’s getting awkward.
- Tobias Harris was also huge, it’s been a long time.
- The Clippers trailed the Wizards by 35 points and WON with a 3+1 from Luke Kennard in the final seconds.
- Read the last sentence carefully.
- The Celtics EXPLODED the Kings, and it would be embarrassing if it wasn’t the Kings.
- Besides, Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum were good at the same time, and as always it was terrible for the opposing defense.
- Anthony Davis was finally back for the Lakers and he was a gentle contributor to the win over the Nets.
- LeBron James, he was still unplayable, definitely these young people are really intrepid.
- The Spurs carded the Rockets in the Texas derby of Wish and Gregg Popovich is only eight victories from his Holy Grail.
- Tim Hardaway Jr. has broken his foot.
- The Warriors put 38 to the Mavs.
- It’s called a bad night in Dallas.
- Anthony Edwards unleashed an extra-terrestrial evening in Portland.

The Clippers just made the 2ND biggest comeback in NBA HISTORY (!) by winning after a 35-point deficit.
Number 2 all time behind the Jazz, who had won a match at the end of the 90s by being led by 36 points. https://t.co/PY5TWBMRAS

One of Nickeil Alexander-Walker’s best games of the season, in a defeat of course.
Graham absent he was aggressive towards the basket and sanctioned the shot.
31 points, 11/22 including 5/9 from three points, only the 7th game of his season (!) with more than 50% shooting…
On note.

The series continues for Embiid, 42 points in 33 minutes last night, New Orleans had no solution in front, too many absentees.
17th game in a row as the Sixers’ top scorer, he equalized Iverson and could overtake him on Thursday evening… against the Lakers. https://t.co/T4KWC1uEDB

35 points and 10 rebounds in 4 straight games.

Karl-Anthony Towns and company are right to yell that Jaylen Nowell should get his check.
We were talking at the start of the season of a limited bench in Minnesota, for a big month and a half it has been doing them a world of good.
13 points average over 2022, hyper active in the game.

Discreet return from AD but match fairly well controlled by the Lakers.
The Big Three with Stanley Johnson and either Monk or Reaves or Bradley must become a permanent lineup. There’s something to work on with this quartet.
LeBron always above, just exceptional. Monster season.

Well frustrated out of defeat, friend Harden.
The smiles were at the max in San Antonio, a frustrating game in Minnesota then a national defeat against the Lakers… it grumbles. pic.twitter.com/A3ib5u6NAl

Here is the list of players who have totaled at least 9000 points, 5000 rebounds and 3000 assists before their 500th game in the NBA:
– Nikola Jokic
That’s all.

We send missiles when things play badly, we also have to send flowers when things play well: Tobias Harris, like Tobias Harris, is capable of playing tonight.
Perhaps his best game of the season, impeccable, especially in the 2nd quarter when Philly was floundering.
– TrashTalk (@TrashTalk_fr) January 26, 2022
Eight more wins and Gregg Popovich is the winningest coach in NBA regular season history.

Oh no, broken foot for Tim Hardaway Jr… terrible. https://t.co/yAXKRjd3Qo
– TrashTalk (@TrashTalk_fr) January 26, 2022
Tim Hardaway Jr extended to Dallas this summer for 4 years and just over $70 million.
Complicated first part of the season, and there he suffered a broken foot… it’s hardcore.
2 weeks before the trade deadline, the management of the Mavs will heat up.

Just huge tonight, huge Anthony Edwards.
Injured, then cramps, fuck it. He took the game on his own in the last quarter, finished at 40 points by asking all Portland fans to shut up in the front row. pic.twitter.com/NBtMrRhJ9I

This is the 3rd time this season that Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown have finished a match by each scoring at least 30 points.
3 games, 3 wins.
Last year: 2 games with both players at 30 points minimum, 2 wins.
– TrashTalk (@TrashTalk_fr) January 26, 2022
Will have to be confirmed during the day, but Wolves commentators have indicated that Anthony Edwards has just slammed his 4th match at 40 points minimum before he turns 21…
… only LeBron apparently did better this young in NBA history.
Check it out but it’s hot.

Rookies in history with 34 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 blocks in one game:
– Michael Jordan
– Cade Cunningham– TrashTalk (@TrashTalk_fr) January 26, 2022
The Heat are 1st in the Eastern Conference today.
30 wins, 17 losses.
Of their 47 games played, there have only been 11 where Miami was able to have Kyle Lowry, Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, Tyler Herro and PJ Tucker available together on the same night.

I imagine KD, in front of the rumors of James Harden at the Sixers, with Kyrie playing every other game, while Paul Millsap asks to be transferred and Joe Harris is going to be evaluated again for his ankle surgery.
All with an ice pack on the knee.
Well…

Counterintuitively…The Lakers got a break when AD went down for 17 games, because they finally realized that maybe Lebron shouldn’t be out top dribbling the shot clock down to 7 seconds while all the Lakers yearn for the ball—like a frustrating pick-up basketball game. He’s frequently in the post now where the game’s nastiest physique can have his way with most of the NBA players that are built like greyhounds and not the mastiff that James is.lHe can see the court better and make the better pass from there as well—or spin and muscle his way to the hoop (he’s rediscovered a forgotten tool we used to call a pump fake AND he’s taking it up off of TWO feet! What a concept). And all the while his fall away is lying in wait. That’s a triple threat to the third (but, I don’t want to create another stat—God, I hate stats.) And, without the ball in his hands as often, he’s moving WITHOUT it—what a concept. Ten bucks says teams would much rather guard him 30 feet from the rim while he employs his old dribble/stare down technique than trying to muscle him underneath or on the move without the ball. And someone tell him to turn down his amazing court vision occasionally—which might distract from his shot at times—and, instead, just step right into every open shot he finds. He can get a clear look almost any time down. If he made his mind up to focus and stroke that sucker when he had space, his percentage would soar and the opportunity to attack the rim would increase—a vicious outcome. Have you noticed he no longer shoots the heaviest three ball in the league? The past couple years, his outside shot reminded me of the tenth frame in a PBA tourney. “Unselfish” is a misused word. An unselfish player takes 30 shots if he knows it will help his team. It’s not UNselfish to pass up a layup to make a wild or unsound pass (see Russ and Ben)…Early in the season, it looked like the young bucks were realizing that maybe the Emperor was naked (or slow and aging) and they were taking it right at Lebron. With AD out, he started flexing again—and in new ways. It’s really something to see.
