The Dallas Mavericks bounced back from a tough loss to the Golden State Warriors and beat the Portland Trail Blazers away.
The 132-112 victory on Wednesday evening (local time) was the team’s 28th and sixth win in the last eight games. Kristaps Porzingis, the Texans’ best pitcher, had 22 points.
Meanwhile, the Phoenix Suns extended their winning streak to eight with a 105-97 win over the Utah Jazz at the top of the Western Conference. With 43 points, Devin Booker had a great night. After losing their fifth straight game, the Jazz, who were just ahead of the Mavericks, lost even more ground.
The Los Angeles Clippers defeated the Orlando Magic a day after their biggest comeback in franchise history. Despite being 14 points behind, the Clippers, led by Isaiah Hаrtenstein, defeated the Magic 111-102. With 21 points, Franz Wagner was the game’s best shooter, but his team’s 40th loss of the season was inevitable. “We fouled too much in the last quarter,” said Wagner.
In the Eastern Conference, the Brooklyn Nets fell to fourth place. The Cleveland Cavaliers lost 115-99 to the Milwaukee Bucks after losing 118-124 to the Denver Nuggets. Cleveland is now third in the Eastern Conference, trailing only the Miami Heat and the Chicago Bulls, who defeated the New York Knicks 110-96. The Nets were without Kevin Durant, who was out through injury, Kyrie Irving, who was unable to play due to a lack of vaccination, and James Harden, who was handed a small injury layoff.
The Charlotte Hornets’ 158-126 win over the Indian Pacers was the NBA’s highest-scoring game that season. A total of 24 three-pointers were manufactured by the Hornets. Lamelo Ball’s fourth triple-double of the season had 29 points, 13 assists and 10 rebounds.
