The Spanish Basketball Federation (FEB) and the representatives of the LEB Or teams, including Girona, agreed to postpone the final of the Copa Princesa de Asturias, scheduled for 11 or 12 February, «with the ‘objective to be able to extend the deadline for the dispute of the postponed matches of the first round’. The final will be delayed, after the agreement, by almost two months, as it is now scheduled to be played on the weekend of April 2 and 3 this year.
The meeting took place due to the need to reorganize the competition schedule due to the high number of matches postponed by Covid-19. Thus, with this postponement of the Cup Final, the deadline for the dispute of the pending matches of the first round will be extended, granting almost a month’s margin, from January 30 to Sunday, February 20. In addition, the day that coincided with the starting date of the Cup Final, the 27th, will be played on Tuesday 29 and Wednesday 30 March.
