Miguel Bethencourt, president of the Haría La Vuelta Arriba Basketball Club, has coordinated the campaign carried out by the entity that consisted of sending sports equipment donated by them to the youth affected by the Tajogaite volcano, on the island of La Palma.
“From the Club we would like to thank the collaboration of EMERLAN, an NGO in charge of sending boxes with the donated equipment to the central supply warehouse in El Paso, La Palma”, the president explained to this newspaper in a press release.
With this type of initiative, the Haría La Vuelta Arriba Basketball Club maintains its commitment not only to the training of athletes and people, but also to “brothers and countrymen who are having a hard time”
“In order for this type of initiative to be developed, the help that the Excellency City Council of Haría gives us in the form of a subsidy is vital, institutional support is crucial to be able to face the expenses that we face each season, both sports and, in this time, altruistically towards our neighbors”, adds its president.
The training and competitions of its representative teams in the different categories have resumed since January 10 in the municipal pavilion of Haría.
“Our wish and that of our entity is that in this recently begun year 2022 everything returns to normal, recovering aspects and habits that we have had to park due to the pandemic”, Miguel Bethencourt finally remarks.
