In the first game of the day in the fight for the first ticket to the world championship, Norway acknowledged Denmark’s superiority with 6: 7 and was forced to play another match, the winners of which would also get the right to start in the world championship.

Latvia responded to one point scored by Norway with the same, as well as to two points scored by Norwegians in the third end – 3: 3.

In the next two endings, however, Norway scored one and three points, respectively, taking a convincing lead with 7: 3.

In the seventh end, Latvia managed to play one point, but to answer the point scored in Norway’s next end with two, before the last one approached 6: 8.

It has already been reported that in previous games Latvia defeated Hong Kong 12: 4 on Tuesday and defeated Denmark 4:10, defeated Finland 12: 3 on Wednesday, defeated Brazil 12: 2 on Thursday, securing a place in the playoffs, and on Friday morning played against Latvia in the Czech Republic. was awarded without a game, as the Czech national team withdrew from the tournament due to positive Covid-19 tests.

In the last match of the main tournament against Norway, which had to determine the division of the first three, Latvia conceded on Friday with 4:10.

The first place in the group with six victories was taken by Norway, the second with five – Denmark and the third with four successes – Latvia.

Seven teams took part in the World Cup qualifiers. First, the teams played a one-round tournament. The first and second place winners then fought for the first ticket to the world championship, which was won by the winner, but the loser met the third place winner to find out the second team to take part in the world championship.

The World Championships will take place from March 19 to 27 in Princet, Canada.

In parallel with the women’s qualification tournament, there were also men’s competitions in which Latvia does not participate.
