The presentation ceremony for “Revolución San Juan Básquet” took place this Friday with the presence of different authorities from the Secretary of State for Sports: Secretary Jorge Chica, accompanied by Undersecretary Leonardo Flores and the Director of High Performance, Mario Arts; in addition to the president of the San Juan Basketball Federation, Darío Bustos, the presidents of the clubs that are part of this new project: Luis Bustos (Urquiza), Lucas Molina (UNSJ Welfare Secretary) and Fabio Benedetti (Ausonia).
This year, basketball in San Juan will once again have a representative in the most inclusive tournament of the CABB. This is the new Federal League where 20 federations from all over the country will compete and there will be 102 teams from every corner of our national map.
San Juan has renewed hope and new ways of working, not only on the field of play. This season from the Basketball Federation of San Juan, it was decided to implement a sports management team where different areas are worked to accompany the work of leaders and players. Always with the accompaniment of the Government of San Juan and the invaluable support of the Secretary of State for Sports under the leadership of Jorge Chica and all his technical teams.
As of January 10, Revolución San Juan Básquet works under the orders of the technical team, Sergio Cabañas as coach together with Juan Pablo Olivares and the physical preparation of Diego Romera. The sports management team coordinated by Fernando Llarena as manager and Manuel García as sports manager, people linked to the three institutions participating in the merger participate in the sports leadership: Club Urquiza, UNSJ and Ausonia.
The squad is made up of local players, except for one who came from Rafaela, Santa Fe and for a number of youths, who will find their sports development after the excellent performances in the last Binational Games of Andean Integration.
This will be the work team that will have the task of defending the jacket of this new San Juan Basketball Revolution, the Giant of Whose.
Hugo Castro – Player
– Hugo, are you part of a big project?
– This is a challenge and mainly a pride to be part of this project that we dream of so much and today is becoming a reality in the province. This is a project mainly for young people, a project for the future, a fairly young average age, but even so we are left with some old people (laughing the player who has a great career in basketball), our task will be to be able to guide them and add from where we touch. We want to consolidate a good group so that these guys are trained as good people, good professionals, that will be the biggest challenge.
– A very big challenge, being the initial kick of a story that is being born.
– Yes, the truth is that it is a very nice project because it has three stages, short, medium and long term. Now we are living in the short term and it is being fulfilled, it is being achieved, hopefully the medium term, which is being able to be competitive, to be able to achieve a classification. While the long-term project is that this continues to grow, that tomorrow another category will be played, something like what was achieved with Jáchal, which was something historic, why not dream of it and be able to achieve it with the province.
Personally, how much does it mean to you?
– It means a lot because I was thinking more about leaving than continuing, and after the achievement we had with Jáchal of becoming champions gave me that thorn to continue playing, I wanted to experience this again, and even better here in our province. This is priceless, it is a challenge and a pride.
– What do you advise those boys who want to start or learn more about basketball?
– It is a sport that I have lived since I was very young and it was practically dead, we were the last province in the country in this discipline, thank God now with this management of Darío, with the state policy of the governor, the unconditional support of Secretary Jorge Girl, they began to give it more importance.
Things are going well and those of us who love basketball can enjoy it in the best way and for that reason I invite all the boys to join, who know this discipline because they will like it.
