The Spanish Badminton Federation (FESBA) doubles its commitment to top competition through the reformed regulations for the allocation of grant funds. This regulation as a general philosophy reinforces the work of coordination and collaboration between FESBA and the Sports Technification Centers (CTD) for the promotion of Spanish badminton in international competitions.
This is one of the most successful tools in recent years and not only because thanks to it the participation in international competitions of the best athletes of the CTD. It also serves as a reference to better understand international badminton and its needs. In addition, it allows us to detect the aspects to work with our athletes and therefore adapt the training to improve these characteristics. The fruits of these nuances are being perceived in the results section, in which Spanish badminton competes with more guarantees and achieves other benefits, such as improving the position of our athletes in the rankings, which also allows us to be seeded in team competitions.
???? The Spanish Badminton Federation launches the ‘Continua’ project.
Looking ahead to 2022 FESBA promotes this initiative by considerably increasing the aid offered compared to last year. This increase is due, among other things, to the incorporation of new segments, such as athletes from clubs and the DAN of High Performance Center (CARD), who until now did not opt for these aids. From now on, they are given the option of planning part of their trips through this help bank to compete autonomously, choosing their own tournaments in coordination with the sports management of FESBA.
The new regulations also include contributions for accompanying technicians, depending on the number of athletes who travel. The aid is distributed according to the position in the international ranking that the player has at the time of registration.
Boosting the work of CTD and Clubs
FESBA enhances the work carried out in the Technification Centers to complete the planning of those athletes who will be part of the different National teams (SSNN) or will be part of CARD in the future, mainly due to the limited places available at the Joaquín Blume Residence in Madrid and the CARD.
Besides CTD, the Federation values the work that the clubs perform with their players, since it is common for players from Club are part of the different SSNNespecially in lower categories. For this reason, this type of aid is also aimed at those players who are in the monitoring phase by the Sports Area and can be part of the national team.
Statistical data indicates that the SSNN are nourished in their great majority of the athletes located in the CARD and the CTD. It is also proven that some SSNN are made up of athletes from clubs, and therefore, these also help the configuration of the same selections.
