The USTA announced the venue where the next March 4 and 5 the United States will receive Colombia for the round of Davis Cup Qualifiers 2022.
The highest body of American tennis revealed that Reno, in the State of Nevada, will be the city that will host this confrontation, exactly in the Reno Events Center.
The hosts will use an indoor fast court in this scenario, almost the same conditions in which these two countries met last time in the Davis Cup Finals, where Colombia took the win 2-1.
The Reno Events Center has hosted sporting events in its history such as the olympic trials United States boxing tournament and the men’s basketball tournament of the NCAA, so it already has experience in this type of event.
The winner of the confrontation will qualify for the Davis Cup Finals 2022, a tournament that will be played at the end of the year in four different cities, for the round robin phase, and then in a fifth neutral city for the knockout series. While the loser will have to play in September the World Group I.
This confrontation will be played in five game format: on the first day there will be two singles matches, while the second will start with the doubles match and will end with two singles.
In the coming weeks the captain of Team Colombia, Alexander Fails, will announce the payroll with which it will face this new challenge. The former tennis player referred to the selection of the venue by U.S:
