KRC Genk will not play this midweek matchday and will only play another league match next weekend. It asked the calendar maker to postpone a few games these weeks, but this will mean a very busy month ahead.
Due to the absence of some internationals, KRC Genk also wanted to postpone the competition matches against Oud-Heverlee Leuven and KV Mechelen, among others. After discussion, this was finally done and the parties were moved to February. As a result, Genk does have a packed calendar in February.
For example, the Limburgers will have to finish no fewer than six games in 22 days. The busy month starts on February 6 with a league match against Zulte Waregem. Only three days later, the make-up match against Oud-Heverlee Leuven follows.
The busy month continues with matches against KV Mechelen (home, 16/02), RSC Anderlecht (away, 20/02) and finally KV Kortrijk (home, 27/02). Coach Bernd Storck will be able to count on his full selection again and will be able to call on Daniel Munoz and Iké Ugbo, among others.
