Transfers abroad: Lille welcomes dribble butt Hatem Ben Arfa | Foreign football

The French champion Lille has strengthened itself with Edon Zhegrova. The 22-year-old Kosovaar, who has a past in Belgium, comes from the Swiss Basel. Lille would pay around 7 million euros for the attacking midfielder. Zhegrova signed a contract in Northern France until mid-2026.

De Kosovaar played in the youth academy of Standard and STVV before making his debut in professional football at Racing Genk in September 2017. The capricious Zhegrova never managed to become a regular base pawn in Genk and left for FC Bazel at the beginning of 2019.

He first played there for a season and a half on a rental basis, after which the Swiss took him over from Genk. At Basel, the midfielder blossomed, with 11 goals and 17 assists in 74 games.

Zhegrova becomes a teammate of our compatriot Amadou Onana and top scorer Jonathan David (ex-Ghent) at number 10 in France.
