Twelve medals for Zamora Archers in the Archery Territory

The Zamorano club ranked first in the medal table

Throughout the weekend, the Veteran, Absolute, Junior, Cadet, Under 14 and Traditional Arch Archery Territorial Championship was held in Valladolid.

The CD Arqueros Zamora set out to measure itself against the best goalkeepers of the commune community, an expedition of fourteen goalkeepers distributed among all the summoned categories. José Manuel Quintano and Manuel Artime competed with recurve bow in veterans and absolute. Mati Peña with compound bow in veterans and absolute. Benjamín Rodríguez as veteran and absolute. Pablo Sánchez, who competed as a junior and Absolute and Isabel Cristóbal, who as a cadet competed as an Absolute, junior and cadet with recurve bow. Mario Martín as a junior with a compound bow. Elizabeth Christopher. Lucía Barroso, Olivia Lorenzo, Enma Piedra and Asier Vizán as cadets in recurve bow. Rodrigo Cristóbal as a child with a recurve bow. And Alejandro Moralejo and Carla Acedo as fry with recurve bow.

They were accompanied on the firing line by coach Daniel García. He also wanted to support our shooters Belén Montero, Provincial Archery Delegate, with his presence.

Precision was shot on Saturday morning and afternoon, and traditional archery on Sunday morning.

Strictly following the COVID protocol and under intense cold in a hall (3-4º in the morning and 6º-7º in the afternoon) without heating, the shooters made a great effort given that being a static sport it is not easy to achieve great marks enduring that cold. In spite of everything, they brought out the sporting spirit and with great stoicism they endured it.

The cold and the effort gave great results. The harvest was very productive:

Five golds: for Tano as veterans, Mario, Isabel as a junior, Lucía and Carla.

Two silvers: for Benjamin in Absolute and Alejandro.

Five bronzes: for Mati, double medalist in Veterans and Absolute, Manuel Artime, Rodrigo and Benjamín (who was also a double medalist).

Three diplomas for fourth place: Isabel in the Absolute category, Olivia and Tano.

A 5th place for Tano in the Absolute category.

Another 5th place for Isabel as a cadet

5th and 6th place for Enma, Pablo and Asier who had specific objectives of technical and mental work regardless of the results and who tried to carry them out until the end.

This bag of metals led the capital club to occupy the first place in the medal table.
