Two players from Toros de Torreón are part of the National Basketball Pre-Selection – El Sol de la Laguna

Torreón, Coahuila.- The Mexican Basketball Sports Association (ADEMEBA), in synergy with the National Teams Project, released the list of the pre-selection of players for the second window of the FIBA ​​World Cup 2023 Qualifiers , which will take place in Havana and Washington in February.

In said call, two players from the Toros de Torreón team are included, which is about to begin its participation in the Chihuahua State Basketball League, being them Eduardo Girón and Jonathan Machado.

Coach Omar Quintero selected 25 players from which, after February 14 (date established by FIBA), he will announce the 14 elements that will make up the definitive team that will face Cuba and the United States.

On January 14, the FIBA ​​Americas Regional Office announced that the usual two-way format will be used for Groups B and D, but having hosted the first window and having played their two matches as local in bubble format, the Mexican Basketball Team will be a visitor in both and will have to travel to Havana for the first game where they will face Cuba, on February 24 and, later, they will go to Washington DC to face the selection of United States, Sunday 27.

In the pre-selection list for the second window, there are new faces such as the young talents, Santiago Camacho, Iván Bernal, Josué Lara and Víctor Valdés; In addition, players who stood out in the first window held in Chihuahua, such as Orlando Méndez, Gabriel Girón Jr., Fabián Jaimes and Daniel Amigo.
