One of them is the FIME student, Ángel Román Garza Cantú, who is a pitcher for the “Osos” team.
Through its Facebook account, the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering of the Autonomous University of Nuevo León, congratulated the young man who will be able to live the dream of being in a Major League team.
For its part, Sultanes de Monterrey announced that Aldo Leija Villarreal, 17, also signed a contract to join the California team development.
Leija has stood out as one of the best pitchers in the state in his category.
Born on June 30, 2004, Leija Villarreal is originally from Monterrey, Nuevo León and was signed by Los Sultanes in August 2018, by the hand of Rubén “Cartucho” Estrada, then a scout and current winter team coach.
According to Sultanes de Monterrey, Aldo, this is a baseball player whose path in baseball began on the playing fields of the Epitacio “Mala” Torres Little League in the municipality of Guadalupe.
After an injury, he was part of the team that participated in the Mexican Winter League as part of his rehabilitation, a circuit where he pitched in 4 games, completing 5.1 innings pitched, allowing 5 runs and striking out 2 rivals.
At 17 years old, Leija stands out showing a speed that ranges between 88 and 90 MPH, the right handed shooter skills they filled the expectations of scout Emmanuel Rangel, who was in charge of carrying out the follow-up and specifying the signature of the Monterrey talent with the ninth Californian.
