Update: Groningen announces deal with PSV and takes over talent (19)

Emmanuel Matuta continues his career at PSV' Football”>FC Groningen. This is reported by the Algemeen Dagblad. The 19-year-old Belgian is taken over for free from PSV by the Pride of the North, where he played in the promise team.

It is striking that Groningen will have access to Matuta for free. The young Belgian has been playing in the PSV youth academy since 2018. The people of Eindhoven plucked him from the academy of KV Mechelen and since then he has played through various youth teams. In Jong PSV he played seventeen games under coach Ruud van Nistelrooij this season. It will therefore remain at that, since he will go to Groningen immediately.

Update: FC Groningen has announced the transfer of Emmanuel Matuta. The Controller will defend the colors of the Pride of the North for the next four and a half years. Mark-Jan Fledderus, the technical director of Groningen, is happy with his latest addition. “In our view, Emmanuel has a lot of potential and good physical conditions: he is quite fast, strong and athletic.”

“Emmanuel is a player who is good at interceptions and winning second balls,” Fledderus continues. “There were more privateers on the coast for him. We are therefore happy that we managed to convince Emmanuel with our plans to choose FC Groningen.”
