They are a 52-year-old entrepreneur and a 39-year-old from Orria, who in the specific case between 2017 and 2018 were responsible for serious criminal episodes
The two people arrested this morning by the Carabinieri of the Agropoli and Vallo della Lucania Companies are accused of usury and extortion.
They are a 52-year-old businessman from Agropoli and a 39-year-old from Orria, both of whom are already injured. The two acted to the detriment of commercial operators and private citizens of the Cilento area, and, on two separate occasions, they made themselves promise and then materially give, for loans made by them, decidedly usury interests: in one circumstance, against a loan of 1000 euros, have demanded the repayment, within 12 months, of interest equal to 100%, for a total amount, therefore, of 2000 euros.
Furthermore, the fifty-two-year-old alone, through repeated threats, took care of overcoming the resistance of the victims of usury, not hesitating to offer them the possibility of being beaten by him with a baseball bat, so as to force them to deliver the sums due by way of usurious interests.
Again the latter, in one circumstance, which occurred in the summer of 2018 in Agropoli, proposing to a local entrepreneur, already a victim of intimidating acts, the possibility of undergoing further arson attacks to the detriment of the mechanical means of his company, had asked for the sum of 6000 euros as consideration for his interest and his intercession with the authors of the previous attacks. An amount which, for reasons not yet ascertained, had not been materially paid.
