In addition to the jump in the FedEx Cup 2022 ranking that Frenchman Paul Barjon would make in the event of victory this Sunday in The American Express in La Quinta, success would open the doors to multiple major tournaments and brighten his horizon!
Almost 1.5 million dollars is the jackpot that Paul Barjon could pocket if he lifts the trophy tonight in California. But beyond this colossal sum of money, this hypothetical victory would also allow him to play two major tournaments already in 2022:
- Le Masters in Augusta, Georgia from April 7 to 10
- The PGA Championship at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma May 19-22
If the US Open and The Open Championship do not automatically qualify victorious players for PGA Tour tournaments, the doors of almost all other appointments on the American circuit will be wide open to them.
We could see it at the Players Championship, the Arnold Palmer Invitational, the Charles Schwab Challenge, the Memorial Tournament, the Genesis Invitational, and certainly even the World Championship stage WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational early August.
Barjon will also be able to book his ticket for Kapalua for the 2023 edition of the Tournament of Champions in January next year.
Finally, this first title for a Frenchman on the PGA Tour would be synonymous with exemption on the American circuit until the end of the 2023-2024 season!
