When Hugo Gaston plays… badminton with a schoolboy from Muret

Distinguished guest, and surprise guest this Thursday, January 27 at the Louisa Paulin de Muret college, south of Toulouse! Hugo Gaston came to meet the Muretain students as part of the Olympic week. On the initiative of the departmental council of Haute-Garonne, several champions went to colleges to share their passions for sport and their life experiences.

In the middle of the afternoon, the Toulouse tennis player arrived at the Nelson Paillou gymnasium, near the college. Waited and acclaimed by a hundred students, he notably told how he had started tennis in Fonsorbes, with his father, president of the local club. “It’s done naturally, and I always saw it as a game“explains Hugo Gaston.

And then the Stade Toulousain Tennis player grabbed a badminton racket to face another 11-year-old Hugo in a quick game. This fifth-grade student, passionate about tennis, realized a dream this Thursday, with a little tear in his eye: “It was a big surprise! I wasn’t expecting it, but it made me very happy. I would love to be a tennis professional like him, because I’ve admired him since he started playing. Even if it’s badminton, I can say that I scored a few points against him“.

It made me happy, and him too. But hey, I lost, maybe I need to ask myself questions“smiles Hugo Gaston.
