The Big leagues have opened the door in recent years to talented Mexican players looking for the opportunity to shine in the Major League Baseball (MLB), such is the case of Julius Uriah with the Dodgers Y Jose Urquidy with the Astros from Houston (in recent years) to which three young Aztecs are added to this list: Angel Garza Cantu, Aldo Leija Villarreal Y Oliver Carrillo.
The three sluggers dream of writing their names in gold letters in professional baseball, and now they are one step away from fulfilling their goal, after the trident signed with the team of San Diego Padres.
With an emotional message posted on the official account of the Autonomous University of Nuevo Leon (UANL), the agreement that the young people reached with their new team from the MLB.
Oliver Carrillo
The young man of only 19 years got his contract with the group of the San Diego PadresThanks to his outstanding performance in the Mexican Winter League with the template of Yucatan Lions.
In 2021 he was recognized for being the slugger with the most home runs. He was also about to get the triple crown, but he was the second batter with the best percentage, with .441.
Angel Roman Garza Cantu
The student of the Faculty of Electrical Mechanical Engineering (FIME) from UANL, was recognized for being an exemplary student and athlete. His goal is to follow in the footsteps of his idol Fernando Valenzuela, so now you will have a double task with the team of the Fathers: complete their studies and grow within the big top.
Aldo Leija Villarreal
The right-handed pitcher, only 17 years old, caught the attention of the Sultans of Monterey after standing out as one of the best pitchers in the state since his time in minor leagues
After being a benchmark for the team, the San Diego Padres did not hesitate to give him the support to go and continue his life in U.S, where apart from continuing to study, he will polish every detail to become one of the next most important pitchers in the MLB.
