Following the rumors that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) reportedly in talks with Major League Baseball (MLB) to stream midweek matches, the analyst at Loup Ventures Gene Munster believes a deal would be an “ideal opportunity” for the tech giant’s Apple TV + streaming service.
What happened
“From my point of view it makes a lot of sense; I think it will take them to live sports, ”Munster said in a discussion with Doug Clinton by Loup Ventures.
Munster added that the deal would be a new step forward for Apple TV, as MLB is arguably the second largest sport in the world in terms of revenue.
Clinton agreed with Munster, noting that the deal would represent a “really smart use” of liquidity in Apple’s balance sheet to express itself in the world of sports streaming.

An agreement would mark the foray of the company led by Tim Cook in the live sports streaming sector and would guarantee a significant increase in content for Apple TV +, the subscription streaming service launched by Apple in 2019 at a cost of $ 5 per month.
Amazon.com Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN) – Apple’s rival – has signed a 10-year deal to make its video streaming service the exclusive venue for the NFL’s ‘Thursday Night Football’ starting in the 2022-23 season: Amazon has acquired these rights in under a $ 1 billion a year deal.
