Tuesday, Favre (22) was summoned by coach Fabien Galthié in a group of 42 players to prepare for the first match of the 2022 Six Nations Tournament.

“A bit of apprehension, stress…”

“I go there with a good frame of mind, I intend to show the staff that they were not mistaken in calling me but, at the same time, I want to say come what may. , I do not project myself further », added the versatile three-quarter.

“I have a little apprehension, stress… It’s new but I hope it will dissipate and that I will quickly integrate”, he continued.

As for the internship that awaits him in Carpiagne (Bouches-du-Rhône) within the Foreign Legion, it is rather curious to experience it: “I like this mentality, never give up, play your role and surpass yourself for the team”.

At 22, Favre, originally from Doubs where he also practiced judo alongside rugby, is aware of having “an atypical journey” but the fact of having been called “is not a coincidence either”, estimated the co-top try scorer in the Top 14 (7 tries).

“Let me be seen as someone who never gives up”

“If I am trusted, it is to reward all the work done over the past ten years”, assured Favre, who has only worn the France team jersey once before, with the under-20s, in 2019 against Scotland.

“Like all the kids at the rugby school, I wore the France team jersey received at Christmas”, said the one who had in his childhood the posters of Byron Kelleher, David Skrela and Yannick Jauzion. The French team, the real one, “I thought about it, but it wasn’t real”.

“I want people to see me as someone who doesn’t give up, who wants and is efficient, clean”, concluded the Rochelais.
