UACH Gears Up to Host State Universiade
The Autonomous University of Chihuahua (UACH) is set to welcome athletes from across the state for the State Phase of the National Council of Sports of education AC Universiade. The event,running from February 24th to 27th,will showcase a diverse range of sporting disciplines,including athletics,soccer,basketball,volleyball,and touch football.
A Multi-Venue Sporting Extravaganza
The UACH campus will serve as the primary hub for the Universiade, hosting competitions in various venues like the University Olympic Stadium, MBA Gym, and UACH field on campus II.archery events will take place at La Salle University, while the Monterrey Campus Chihuahua Technological Institute of Higher Studies will act as a sub-headquarters.
UACH Delegation Ready to Compete
The UACH will field a strong delegation of 530 individuals, with 490 athletes representing the university in various disciplines. This event serves as a crucial stepping stone for athletes aiming to qualify for the Regional Universiade, scheduled to be held in Zacatecas.
Intense Competition Awaits
The Universiade promises thrilling matchups across multiple sports.
February 24th kicks off with women’s indoor volleyball, women’s soccer, and men’s soccer matches. The day will also see the first round of men’s basketball action.
February 25th features more volleyball and soccer action, along with men’s association football matches. The evening will see another round of men’s basketball games.
February 26th will witness the continuation of volleyball and soccer tournaments, with athletics events taking center stage at the University Olympic Stadium.Archery competitions will also commence at the ULSA Field.
February 27th concludes the Universiade with the final day of athletics competitions.
Spectator Details
All events are open to the public and free of charge. Due to ongoing COVID-19 precautions, a 50% capacity limit will be enforced. Spectators are encouraged to arrive 30 minutes prior to the start of events for health screenings, including temperature checks, hand sanitization, and mask requirements.

Gabriela: it’s a pleasure to be here. This Universiade at UACH is a really exciting event for young athletes and something I’m thrilled to discuss.

Gabriela: I love that they’re offering such a wide range of disciplines. It’s great for overall athletic development and fosters a sense of community among athletes from different backgrounds and sports. It’s not just about competition; it’s about learning from each other and pushing each other to be better.
Moderator: You’re right, it’s a great platform for showcasing talent across the board. UACH is sending a massive delegation – 530 individuals, with 490 athletes! Do you think this speaks to the strength of the university’s athletic program?
Gabriela: definitely. It speaks volumes about their dedication to supporting student-athletes. Sending such a large delegation shows they believe in giving their athletes opportunities to shine, and it surely motivates them to strive for excellence. This universiade could be their springboard to bigger things, like the Regional Universiade in Zacatecas.
Moderator: That’s an crucial point. This event is a launching pad for athletes hoping to progress to regional and national levels.How crucial is it for young athletes to have these stepping stone competitions?
Gabriela: They’re absolutely essential. Competing at a higher level exposes athletes to tougher competition, it helps them adapt to pressure situations, and it gives them valuable experience against seasoned opponents. It’s a vital part of their development journey.
Moderator: Given that the event is happening during a time when COVID-19 precautions are still necessary,what are your thoughts on the organizers’ decision to limit the capacity to 50% and implement safety protocols?
Gabriela: While it’s sad that stadiums won’t be at full capacity,I fully support the decision. The health and safety of athletes,coaches,and spectators must come first. I applaud the organizers for taking these precautions seriously.
