2:1 in Rostock: 1st place! – Werder Bremen wins away – Bundesliga

Werder’s mega run continues! Bremen also beat newly promoted Hansa Rostock 2-1 (0-0) and thus get their seventh (!) win in a row under their new coach Ole Werner (33).

And: Werder takes over the top of the table in the 2nd division for at least one night with the win. The last time that happened was 3,800 days ago on September 17, 2011 – but in the Bundesliga.

The 500 Bremen fans celebrate in the guest block: “Leaders, leaders, leaders!” Darmstadt and St. Pauli can overtake Werder again at the weekend.

Marvin Ducksch (27) was the man of the day again. Werder’s top striker (13 goals this season) scores in the seventh game in a row – and how!

54 minutes: Romano Schmid puts the ball through to Ducksch on the left edge of the penalty area. The attacker immediately takes his measurements and hits under the bar with a beautiful flick.

In the 74th minute, his storm partner Niclas Füllkrug (29) made everything clear, hitting the left corner (ninth goal of the season).

Now head coach Werner is only missing one win to equal the historic start record of coaching legend Otto Rehhagel. He started in 1981 with eight wins and then rose to the Bundesliga with Werder. Now you can dream of that again…

Newly promoted Rostock is fighting back and is an unpleasant opponent for Bremen in the Ostseestadion (10,000 spectators). However, there are hardly any highlights in the first half. But instead four yellow cards.

In the end, Werder has to tremble again! Meißner scored the goal in the 83rd minute. After the 4:1 in Dresden, however, a setback for Rostock, who continue to fight against relegation.
