The Badminton Club of Langres is celebrating its thirtieth birthday this season. President Charles Collin discusses with us the news of the club.
Created in December 1992, the Badminton Club of Langres will therefore celebrate its thirty years of existence at the end of the year. After four years at the head of the club, Laurence Bardin resigned from the position of president of the club in September but she still officiates within the BCL as vice-president in order to ensure a smooth transition at the head. of the club.
She was replaced by Charles Collin. The club currently has 93 members including 45 young people aged 6 to 17 and 11 competitors. “The competitors are aligned on the different possible tables, namely in singles, doubles and mixed doubles“, confides Charles Collin. The pair formed by Jérôme Semelet and Lucas Marinho also distinguished themselves last November by winning the Arc-sur-Tille tournament (Côte-d’Or). President Langrois regrets that there are not more players committed in competition.”The club has struggled to have enough competitors to be able to participate in mixed adult interclubs for a few years“, underlines Charles Collin. Young players frequently participate in the various competitions organized by the Aube/Haute-Marne committee. The club also hosted the young veterans circuit last December. “About sixty players met at the Grand Sud complex in Langres with several medals at stake for the Langrois“, slips the president.
