ACADEMIC STARS – City dwellers | Excellence Sports

Once again, UQAM has a high academic success rate among these student-athletes. In 2020-2021, more than 60% of student-athletes – 94 out of 154 – maintained an average above 80%. These Citadins have won the title of academic stars of the Quebec Student Sports Network (RSEQ) and/or Canadian University Sport (U SPORTS). It is a record year for the color bearers of the Citadins, who have 38 academic stars who have obtained an average of 4.0 out of 4.3, or more than 93% on average.

Thus, on February 10, a virtual ceremony was held to honor these athletes in the presence of the Vice-Rector for Academic Life, Mr. Jean-Christian Pleau, the Director of the Office of Sports Activities, Mr. Alexandre Lamarre and the sports excellence coordinator, Mr. Daniel Méthot.

Several other ceremonies have been held over the past few weeks to highlight the excellence of student-athletes who have obtained an average greater than 3.2 in the company of the deans or deans of the seven faculties and schools.
