18h05: Juve empties its cupboards on the right corner (Thank you Tottenham)
Swedish attacking midfielder Dejan Kulusevski and Uruguayan midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur are both leaving Juventus Turin to join Tottenham, the two clubs announced on Monday a few hours before the end of the winter transfer window.
A great promise of Swedish football, Kulusevski, 21, arrived at Juve 18 months ago but struggled to establish himself, whether last season with Andrea Pirlo or this season with Massimiliano Allegri.
Juve, which had spent 44 million euros to make it one of the spearheads of its renewal, resells it on similar financial terms to Tottenham, whose transfers are in the hands of a former Bianconero manager, Fabio Paratici.
The London club will first pay 10 million euros for an 18-month loan, until June 2023, then will have to buy it back, according to certain sporting criteria, for 35 million euros, according to figures communicated by Juventus.
Bentancur, 24, had been in Turin since 2017. He is sold for compensation of EUR 19 million, to which may be added EUR 6 million in bonuses linked to sporting criteria, said the bianconero club.
