The Antioquia teams are still active on the closing of the transfer market. Águilas Doradas confirmed this Friday, February 25, Mauricio Duarte as a new reinforcement of the Antioquia team for the remainder of the Colombian League I-2022.
“Águilas Doradas has reached an agreement for the incorporation of left-back Mauricio Duarte to the professional squad. He comes to the team as a free player and signed a one-year contract, “the club said in a statement.
About Duarte, he is 29 years old, he has played in clubs such as Cúcuta Deportivo, Cortuluá, Deportivo Pasto and Defensa y Justicia de Argentina, a team with which he was champion of the 2020 South American Cup and the 2021 South American Recopa.
“I am happy to be here, it is a nice experience. I have come to contribute my talent, it is a great team and we will seek to enter the group of eight. I am an offensive side, without neglecting defense, I hope to contribute with my game and why not, with goals. I arrive as a free player, I hope to contribute with my game and that this confidence can be repaid on the court”, explained Duarte.
Regarding being directed by Leonel Álvarez, Mauricio stated that “it is something important that an icon of Colombian soccer like Leonel Álvarez can direct me, I hope to earn his trust and that I can contribute on the field with my way of playing.”
With the arrival of Mauricio Duarte, the team from eastern Antioquia has so far made eight additions to its professional squad: Jeison Quiñones, Luis Sandoval, Cristian Vargas, Marco Pérez, Jader Quiñones, Felipe Jaramillo, Jean Pestaña, in addition to the arrival of Leonel Alvarez as coach.
