Alès: the old ice rink becomes the playground of archers and bowlers

Definitively closed since the beginning of the summer, the Arc club alesien strikes hearts again”>Alès ice rink has found a new destination.

“As the Bruèges bowling alley is no longer usable due to a security problem, it was necessary to relocate the clubs that were there. Namely archeryboules lyonnaise and petanqueexplains Marie-Claude Albaladejo, the deputy mayor, in charge of sports. The decision was made this fall and we had to redevelop the building.” The work was started in November…

The “renewed energy” of the archers

The Arc club alesien does not sulk its pleasure to have invested in a new site at the end of the year and even says to itself, “today, able to welcome new archers”. Beginners are therefore expected on Wednesdays and Fridays, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.; confirmed or competitors are on Wednesdays and Fridays, from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., and Thursdays, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. (info: www.arcclubalesien.com). Moreover, strong of this “energy boost”the association has registered for the regional excellence division championship and will even organize one of the four rounds, on May 22, at the Clavières stadium.

Today “being finalized”, the shipyard already allows a few athletes to practice. It is, in this case, those of the Arc club alesien. The others should be able to find it “in a fortnight” and, in the end, the former ice rink should accommodate up to 250 people, if we also take into account the members of Visa 2000 who try their hand at archery.

The municipal elected official specifies that it is not said that these will stay there to eternal life : “If we find it bigger and more suited to their needs, they will go elsewhere…” As for the future of the building in which the ice rink existed, it is obviously not on the agenda since, according to Marie-Claude Albaladejo, “Today, it’s premature to talk about a new use, whether to put an ice rink back on it or to create something else”.
