Brett: It’s a slippery slope. I understand the sentiment, the desire to hold Russia accountable. But punishing athletes who have no control over political decisions, who have dedicated their lives to their sport, feels unfair. Haven’t we always believed in the power of sport to bridge divides? Shouldn’t we encourage dialog and understanding, even amidst conflict?

Brett: No way. What’s happening in ukraine is a stark reminder that the real world bleeds into every aspect of our lives, even into the arena.
