Only Tom Brady decides on the future of Tom Brady and according to the quarterback, he still hasn’t done that despite reports to the contrary. “I understand the environment we’re in, everyone wants the news before everyone else,” the 44-year-old NFL superstar said on a podcast on Monday in his first public appearance since the weekend’s resignation announcements. “It’s really day to day with me, I’m trying to evaluate everything well and make a very good decision for my family.”
On Saturday, ESPN, citing anonymous sources, reported that the decision had been made and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback would retire. Numerous colleagues, the NFL itself and even one of his companies then congratulated him on his outstanding career with seven Super Bowl victories. “I tried to have a nice weekend but it didn’t quite work out, my phone was pretty busy,” he said.
Brady has been in the NFL for 22 years and has continued to perform well despite being eliminated in the playoff quarterfinals. He has one more season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
