“I regularly raced against Lotte and I was impressed by her. I have told her that once,” says Anna van der Breggen, sports director at SD Worx since this year.
In her career, the Dutchman has won the Flèche Wallonne 7 times, Liège-Bastogne-Liège twice, the Tour of Flanders once, the Giro 4 times, 3 world titles (2x on the road, 1x in the time trial) and an Olympic title on the way.
“With the knowledge I have gained as a rider, I now want to make the team as good as possible,” says Van der Breggen. “We also want to make Lotte better in which she wants to get better herself.”
In which areas does SD Worx want to improve the Belgian champion?
“Lotte is an all-round rider. Her sprint is of course very good. She must continue to develop that.”
“But Lotte can do more than that. We have seen that in the Strade Bianche and in the Giro.”
“We want to find out how well she can develop as a climber and whether she can participate in general classifications in stage races. That is a very nice quest, also for Lotte herself.”
“In addition, Lotte is also top on the track. All those talents make her one of the best riders.”
